What we collect
Your photos never leave your device. Backfeed reads your photo library
on the phone to build your feed. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is copied to a
server, and no one else can see any of it. There is no photo storage on our
side because there is nothing to store.
- Photos and their metadata: read on your device only — the picture,
the date it was taken and, if the photo recorded one, its location. Used to
build your feed and to say how long ago a memory is. Never uploaded.
- Places: when a photo carries coordinates, they are sent to Apple to
be turned into a place name (Apple CLGeocoder), and the result is cached on
your device. Only the coordinates travel, never the photo.
- Account: an anonymous identifier (Firebase Authentication). No name
or email is required, and it is not linked to your photos.
- Purchases: handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your
payment details.
- Diagnostics: anonymous counters used to keep the subscription
working. No content, ever.
- Sharing: a memory leaves the phone only when you tap share and
choose where to send it.
Retention
Everything the app builds — your feed, what you kept, your place cache — lives on your device and is deleted with the app. Server-side we hold only an anonymous identifier and subscription state.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting ilyas.inajjar@gmail.com. EU/UK users: GDPR rights apply (access, rectification, erasure, portability).
Children
Backfeed is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU).
